Deze rondwandeling voert je over de hoge valleiranden van de Hoegne van Pepinster naar het middeleeuwse stadje Theux (niet ver van Franchimont). Beide hebben een treinstation, Pepinster is op minder dan 2 uur met de trein vanuit Gent bereikbaar.
Het landschap is dat van "ontboste" Ardennen, zeer heuvelachtig maar open, zodat je van het ene verbazende panorama in het andere terecht komt. Een echte "dépaysement"...
De route loopt voor 75 % over verharde - maar zeer rustige - wegen. Ze volgt deels de GR 573 "Tour de la Vesdre" en zijn Spa-variant.
