Het krachtcentrale Schilling was een zwaar oliegestookte oliecentrale met drie blokken van elk 125 MW vermogen, dicht bij de kerncentrale Stade KKS.
De bouw begon in 1957. In 1960 ging het eerste blok in bedrijf. Blok 2 volgde in augustus 1962 en blok 3 in februari 1964. De verbranding vond plaats als frontverbranding met 18 oliebrenners met een brandstofdoorvoer van elk 1.700 kg/u. De krachtcentrale inclusief het bijbehorende tankopslag is echter inmiddels stilgelegd en afgebroken. Aangezien het voornamelijk diende voor de elektriciteitsvoorziening van Hamburg en zijn stroom in het transformatorstation Hamburg-Noord invoerde, werd destijds de eerste hoogspanningslijnovergang van de Elbe bij Stade, de Elbe-overgang 1, gebouwd.
