Het kasteel Freiburg, beter bekend onder de naam Burghaldenschloss, is een verdwenen hoogteburcht op de Schlossberg op 376,3 m boven NN in het gebied van de huidige Ludwigshöhe boven de stad Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg.
Reeds in het jaar 1091 liet de Zähringer hertog Berthold II. op de Freiburger Schlossberg het later door Hartmann von Aue bezongen mooie Castrum de Friburch in romaanse stijl bouwen. De dienaren en ambachtslieden van de hertog vestigden zich aan de voet van de berg in het gebied van de huidige zuidelijke oude stad, maar pas in het jaar 1120 verleende zijn zoon Konrad met toestemming van keizer Heinrich IV. de nederzetting het marktrecht en beëindigde daarmee de oprichtingsfase van Freiburg.
