De longkliniek Hemer is een gespecialiseerde kliniek voor longaandoeningen met pneumologie, thoraxchirurgie, radiologie, radiotherapie en anesthesiologie. Sinds 1996 behoort ook een tumorbiologisch onderzoeksinstituut tot de longkliniek.
Als ambtsziekenhuis werd het gebouw van de huidige longkliniek opgericht en in 1908 ingezegend. Tegen het einde van de jaren 30 richtte de Wehrmacht het ziekenhuis in als locatie-lazaret; na de mobilisatie werd het omgevormd tot een reservelazaret. Bombardementen door de geallieerden beschadigden het gebouw. De Duitse Gemeenschaps-Diakonie Verband stuurde Hans Meyer en enkele diakonessen uit het moederhuis Bleibergquelle naar Hemer voor de wederopbouw. Meyer bleef 34 jaar lang hoofd van de administratie van de kliniek.
