De bergbouwwoestenij Altenberg verwijst naar een vergaan stad en archeologische opgravingssite op de gelijknamige berg tussen de stadswijk Littfeld van Kreuztal en de stadswijk Müsen van Hilchenbach in de Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein in Noordrijn-Westfalen.
De naam "Altenberg" wordt in de schriftelijke overlevering van het Siegerland voor het eerst vermeld in een document van 12 juli 1290. Al in de 12e eeuw werden lood, zilver en ertsen gewonnen, en de lange geschiedenis eindigde pas in 1965 met de vervulling van de machineput.
