Het district Grafschaft Schaumburg met zetel in Rinteln was tot 1977 een district in Nedersaksen. Het werd op 1 januari 1822 opgericht als Kreis Schaumburg in het keurvorstendom Hessen, kwam in 1866 als Kreis Rinteln bij de Pruisische provincie Hessen-Nassau en kreeg in 1905 de naam Grafschaft Schaumburg. Sinds 1932 behoorde het tot de Pruisische provincie Hannover en sinds 1946 tot Nedersaksen. Zijn gebied is ontstaan uit het kurhessische deel van de Grafschaft Schaumburg en behoort tegenwoordig, met uitzondering van de stad Hessisch Oldendorf die tot het district Hameln-Pyrmont behoort, tot het district Schaumburg.
