De derde etappe van de Badense wijnfietsroute voert ongeveer 53 km door de wijngaarden van de Breisgau naar de Ortenau. Vanaf Riegel loopt het wijnfietspad door het wijngebied Breisgau naar Gengenbach in het Kinzigtal. Langs de ruïnes van Lichteneck gaat de route verder door glooiende wijngaarden, gezellige dorpjes en lieflijke steden die worden gekenmerkt door herenhuizen, vakwerkhuizen en prachtige stadhuizen. In de buurt van de barokke stad Ettenheim is het de moeite waard om een omweg te maken naar de Heubergturm, die een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht biedt. Fietsers passeren het kasteel in Schmieheim, waar een brouwerij is gevestigd, en Lahr, dat vooral bloeit tijdens het chrysantenseizoen in de herfst, voordat de etappe eindigt in het mooie Gengenbach.
