Valby Hegne is bekend om zijn langdysse. Op niet minder dan zes verschillende plaatsen in dit bos zijn deze grote steengravens te zien.
Ze zijn waarschijnlijk gebouwd over een langere periode, rond 3400 voor Christus.
In de periode die we de bondstenen tijdperk noemen.
In Denemarken hebben we zowel ronddysse als langdysse. De ronddysse heeft meestal een grafkamer, terwijl de meeste langdysse meerdere grafkamers in een lijn hebben.
De grafkamer is de ongeveer drie rechtopstaande stenen met een grote dekselsteen erbovenop.
