Het Museo Memorial de la Resistencia Dominicana is een herdenkingsmuseum ter ere van alle mannen en vrouwen die op de een of andere manier tegen het dictatoriale regime van Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina vochten, en tijdens het moderne regime van Joaquín Balaguer, en van alle families die hun familieleden verloren tijdens de bloedige "Era de Trujillo" en de daaropvolgende "12 jaren van Balaguer" die in werkelijkheid 22 waren (12 en 10). Het museum heeft als doel de geschiedenis van al deze nationale helden te redden en te behouden, die op een bepaald moment "vergeten" waren in de gedachten van de dominicaanse bevolking.
