San Sebastián is een Spaanse stad en gemeente, gelegen aan de kust van de Golf van Biscaye, op 20 kilometer van de grens met Frankrijk. De stad is de hoofdstad van de provincie Gipuzkoa, in de autonome gemeenschap van het Baskenland. De bevolking van de gemeente bedraagt 187.850 inwoners [7] en het metropolitane gebied heeft 436.500 inwoners. Het is de hoofdplaats van de Eurostad Baskenland Bayonne-San Sebastián, een agglomeratie van meer dan 620.000 inwoners.
