Het huis waar vandaag de nachtclub Amnesia Ibiza is gevestigd, werd aan het eind van de 18e eeuw gebouwd. In het begin was het de woning van vijf generaties van de familie Planells. In maart 1970 verlieten ze het huis en vestigden zich in een appartement in de stad Ibiza. Het huis en het landgoed werden verkocht aan Maria Fuencisla Martínez de Campos y Muñoz, een weduwe van aristocratische afkomst. In 1976 huurde een jonge Madrileen, Antonio Escohotado, het huis voor 20.000 peseta's per maand om er een nachtclub in te vestigen. Hij koos de naam Amnesia.
