De grot van Niaux vind je bij Tarascon-sur-Ariège. De grot van Niaux is beroemd doordat er een grote ronde ruimte in is, de Salon Noir, waar de prehistoriche mensen muurschilderingen op hebben aangebracht. Je vind er verbazingwekkend knap getekende afbeeldingen van o.a. paarden, steenbokken, herten en bizons. Daarnaast zijn er in de grot van Niaux afdrukken van voetstappen van kinderen. Dit deel van de grot is erg kwetsbaar en daarom niet voor het publiek opengesteld.
