Dit gebouw is nu het Historisch museum van Kreta maar was vroeger de familiewoonst van een belangrijke Griekse archeoloog: Minos Karokairinos. Hij beschreef en ontdekte Knossos 20 jaar voor dat Arthur Evans met de pluimen ging lopen als dé grote ontdekker van Knossos. Arthur Evans schreef boeken vol over zijn eigen ontdekkingen in Knossos, maar wist merkwaardig genoeg in die duizenden pagina's geen woord te reppen over Minos Karakairinos.
