De brug staat ook bekend als de Ponte Quattro Capi of de Brug van de 4 Hoofden.
Het eerste huis links bij het betreden van het eiland is gelinkt aan Mathilde van Toscane die een belangrijke stem had in het Vaticaan, maar ook in verband kan gebracht worden met de Trappist van Orval.
Het verhaal over haar leven is te fascinerend om het hier niet te vermelden, voornamelijk omdat er een duidelijke band bestaat met België en ons onvolprezen trappistenbier. Het valt volledig te lezen in mijn Kroniek nr. 13. Je hoeft alleen de link aan te klikken.
