De villa werd opgericht in 1897 volgens het ontwerp van ingenieur Baraggioli in opdracht van dokter Federico Demaria, hoofd van het ziekenhuis van Ivrea en echtgenoot van Angela Baratti, uit de bekende Milanese confectiefamilie. De bouwwerkzaamheden werden uitgevoerd door het bedrijf Pilatone. De Constantino Nigra-laan, waaraan de villa zich bevindt, was destijds een van de meest ontwikkelde straten van Eporedia, aangezien het de arterie was die, via de Nieuwe Brug, het historische centrum van de stad verbond met het station.
