Schoonheten is een stijlvolle en voorname havezate.De monumentale toegangsbrug met de twee bogen over de slotgracht stralen dit ook uit. Het huis is in 1382 voor het eerst genoemd. Het huis is omgracht en op het voorplein bevinden zich twee kwartcirkelvormige bouwhuizen..De huidige bewoners zijn nog steeds telg van het geslacht Bentinck.
