Wist je dat er een verband bestaat tussen de Niagara Falls en de beroemde wetenschapper Nikolas Tesla. Toen hij werd ontslagen door Thomas Edison omdat Edison dacht dat er geen toekomst was in AC, had Tesla twee jaar geen baan. Hij werd opgepikt door de uitvinder en investeerder Westinghouse. Samen met hem ontwikkelde hij de AC-technologie voor elektriciteit. Westinghouse kreeg het contract voor de bouw van de AC-genererende turbines bij de Niagara-watervallen. Het bleek een veel efficiëntere manier om elektriciteit op te wekken.
