Txecoslovàquia va ser un estat que existí a l'Europa Central entre el 1918 i el 1992, tret del període de 1938 a 1945. El 1r de gener de 1993 es va escindir de comú acord i pacíficament, de manera que es va tornar a la situació històrica anterior, quan va ser fundada el 28 d'octubre de 1918 com un dels estats successors de l'Imperi austrohongarès, donant de nou lloc als dos països inicials precedents: la República Txeca i Eslovàquia. Tots dos països formen part de la Unió Europea des de l'any 2004.
