Bayernwald er et sted i Wijtschate, der holder mindet om Første Verdenskrig i live. Det blev åbnet i april 2004 efter et års restaurering.
Man kan se, hvordan tyskerne under ledelse af Rupprecht von Bayern i dette område i den nuværende kommune Heuvelland havde anlagt en 40 meter høj bakke, som de mellem 1914 og 1917 omdannede til en uindtagelig fæstning. Det, der stadig kan ses i dag, udgør kun 10% af, hvad det engang var. Fire betonbunkere, 320 meter gravrækker og to minebrønde, 25 meter dybe, er blevet restaureret.
