Nicht umsonst trägt der Friedhof auf Hoog Kortrijk den Namen „Aussicht“. Spazieren Sie durch diesen stillen Ort in Richtung des dahinterliegenden Teichs am Onument.
Das Onument ist ein kürzlich errichtetes kreisförmiges Denkmal aus dem Jahr 2021. Es gedenkt der vielen Corona-Opfer und ist ein Trostplatz bei verschiedenen Verlusterfahrungen. Es können auch Momente, Veranstaltungen und Rituale organisiert werden. Still oder laut, klein oder groß, um gemeinsam oder alleine erlebt zu werden. Und es ist sowieso ein ruhiger, nennen wir es meditativ, Platz mit schönem Ausblick auf die Wasserfläche und die umliegenden Felder. Am Teich ruht die marmorne Skulptur „Groß Gebundenes Marmor“, ein Werk des Kortrijkser Künstlers Paul Van Rafelghem.
