Die Noordbrug ist ein eindrucksvolles Beispiel für eine Schrägseilbrücke und verbindet das Stadtzentrum mit dem Museum Texture, dem Viertel Overleie und den weiter entfernten Stadtteilen Heule und Bissegem. Auf Zentrumsseite erstrecken sich ein „Basketballkorb“ und die Kortrijk Weide.
Die Noordbrug wurde 2010 im Zuge der Leie-Umgestaltung errichtet und ersetzt ältere Brücken, über die einst sogar eine elektrische Straßenbahnlinie führte. Diese wurde später durch einen Linienbus ersetzt, der zu bestimmten Zeiten auf der Kortrijker Nord-Süd-Achse fährt.
