Lauscha ist eine Landstadt im thüringischen Landkreis Sonneberg. Der durch das Glasbläserhandwerk bekanntgewordene Ort liegt im fränkisch geprägten Süden des Freistaates.
Lauscha liegt im Thüringer Schiefergebirge zwischen den Städten Sonneberg, Ilmenau und Saalfeld. Die Stadt befindet sich in einem nordöstlichen Seitental der Steinach unterhalb des Gebirgskamms. Der Bahnhof Lauscha liegt 611 m ü. NN, der südlichste Punkt an der Mündung der Göritz in die Steinach 515 m ü. NN. Der Pappenheimer Berg erhebt sich 834,5 m ü. NN.
