Die Valentré-Brücke ist ein Wahrzeichen von Cahors und wurde ab 1308 auf Initiative der Konsuln der Stadt gebaut. Die Brücke ist 172 m lang, besteht aus 8 Bögen und 3 Türmen, die 40 m über dem Wasserspiegel liegen.
Die Brücke wurde um 1380 fertiggestellt und stets instand gehalten. Im Jahr 1998 wurde die Brücke von der UNESCO als Teil des Jakobswegs in die Liste des Weltkulturerbes aufgenommen.
Seit 1995 ist sie Fußgängerzone. Abends können Sie die Valentré-Brücke dank der Beleuchtung aus einem anderen Blickwinkel betrachten.
Der kleine Teufel, den Sie auf dem zentralen Turm suchen können, erinnert an die Legende dieser wunderschönen Brücke.
