"Hier ruhen drei Krankenschwestern der FFI, die von den Deutschen im Schloss Saulles gefoltert wurden, weil sie sich geweigert hatten, den Maquis von Bussières zu verraten - Mortes pour la France - 12. September 1944 - Betet für sie".
Am Abend des 11. September stürmte eine Gruppe deutscher Soldaten das Schloss von Saulles (Haute-Marne), einem Nachbardorf von Bussières-les-Belmont, und richtete die drei Krankenschwestern, die sich in der Notrufzentrale befanden und sich am Vortag den FFI angeschlossen hatten, hin, nachdem sie sie gefoltert hatten.
