Wie so oft der Fall ist bei Landgütern wie Randenbroek, ist es auch hier gegangen. Zuerst gab es eine Bauernhofstelle, die aufgrund der günstigen Lage zu einem prächtigen Herrenhaus heranwachsen konnte. Der 'broek' ist der Name, der sich von einem sumpfigen Gebiet ableitet, in diesem Fall am Fuße eines Hanges der Utrechtse Heuvelrug gelegen. Im 17. Jahrhundert wohnte der Maler Jacob van Campen in Randenbroek. Zwei Jahrhunderte später war H. van Lunteren, der bekannte Gartenarchitekt, Bewohner von Randenbroek. Seine Vorliebe für Parks im englischen Landschaftsstil hat er auch hier verwirklicht. Das Haus wurde 1959 letztmalig restauriert.
