En julio de 1836, el famoso matemático belga Adolphe Quetelet estableció la línea de meridiano en la iglesia de Sint-Goedele en Bruselas. Aún puedes ir a ver esa línea de cobre. Junto con el agujero de luz, puedes determinar tú mismo el mediodía. Debajo de la pierna de Luis II de Hungría, que se representa en la vidriera, se ha colocado el agujero de luz. Este agujero proyecta un punto de luz sobre la línea de cobre al mediodía. Es recomendable estar allí una o dos horas antes del mediodía (dependiendo de si es hora de verano o hora de invierno), porque verás que el verdadero mediodía no coincide con las 12 en tu reloj.
