"Aquí yacen tres enfermeras del FFI torturadas por los alemanes en el castillo de Saulles por negarse a traicionar a los maquis de Bussières - Muertas por Francia - 12 de septiembre de 1944 - Rezad por ellas".
La noche del 11 de septiembre, un grupo de soldados alemanes irrumpe en el Château de Saulles (Alto Marne), pueblo cercano a Bussières-les-Belmont, y tortura y ejecuta a las tres enfermeras del centro de primeros auxilios que se habían unido al FFI el día anterior.
