La batalla de Salamina fue un combate naval que enfrentó a una alianza de ciudades-estado griegas con la flota del Imperio persa en el 480 a. C. en el golfo Sarónico, donde la isla de Salamina deja dos estrechos canales que dan acceso a la bahía de Eleusis, cerca de Atenas. Este enfrentamiento fue el punto álgido de la segunda guerra médica, el segundo intento persa por invadir Grecia que había comenzado en el 480 a. C.
