La capilla de Santa Catalina data de los siglos XI/XII y es la más antigua capilla de salón de los Países Bajos en su estado original. La capilla de Santa Catalina fue la iglesia de Lemiers hasta 1901.
Alrededor de 1975 hubo planes para volver a dar a la capilla una función eclesiástica. Hans Truijen pintó en 1978 todo el interior, en un estilo expresionista.
