La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Asistencia Perpetua en la plaza Monseñor Nolens fue construida en 1952.
Al igual que todo el barrio Heuvelkwartier, la iglesia fue edificada en el estilo de la Escuela de Delft.
En particular, la Escuela de Delft tuvo una gran influencia en la arquitectura de las iglesias católicas. Características de la Escuela de Delft son el uso casi exclusivo de ladrillo, amplios marcos y balcones (a menudo en colores claros), altas líneas de canalones, setos verdes, los altos techos cubiertos de tejas entre frontones y el uso de piedra natural en puntos estructuralmente importantes.
La iglesia tiene el apodo de: 'El Lecho'.
La iglesia ha dejado de funcionar como tal desde septiembre de 2008.
La antigua iglesia ha seguido siendo el punto central del barrio, pero ahora como centro comunitario De Vlieren.
