La chapelle catholique date du XIe/XIIe siècle et est la plus ancienne église de hall de Pays-Bas dans son état d'origine. La chapelle catholique était jusqu'en 1901 l'église de Lemiers.
Vers 1975, des projets ont été envisagés pour redonner à la chapelle une fonction religieuse. Hans Truijen a peint l'intérieur complet en 1978, dans un style expressionniste.
