Il priorato di Sint-Maarten fu fondato da Willem van Sichem nel 1408, successivamente utilizzato dall'università come pedagogia. Nel 1477 la comunità si unì ai Canonici Regolari. Il dominio comprendeva un monastero, un chiostro e una chiesa gotica. Il priorato fu soppresso nel 1784 e successivamente utilizzato come caserma e ospedale militare. Nel 1803 la chiesa e parte del complesso monastico furono demolite. Ciò che rimase divenne una caserma di cavalleria, che a sua volta fu demolita nel 1960 per fare spazio a edifici residenziali di alta qualità.
