La Heimathaus di Pfronten è una vecchia costruzione in legno a telai, che è elencata nella lista dei monumenti di Pfronten. L'edificio originale è stato spostato due volte in una nuova posizione.
Verso la fine del Medioevo, sono stati creati sempre più ospizi, dove persone povere e malate del luogo, ma anche pellegrini in transito, potevano trovare un rifugio. Nel sud dell'Ostallgäu, tali istituzioni di beneficenza sono state fondate nel 1465 a Füssen, nel 1501 a Marktoberdorf e nel 1503 a Nesselwang. Tra di esse, c'è stata una fondazione simile nella vicina Vils in Tirolo e due anni prima anche a Pfronten. La denominazione di questa "stazione sociale" non è sempre la stessa. A Pfronten veniva chiamata Seelhaus o Elendenherberge, successivamente Spital.
