Il quartiere si trova nel sud-ovest della città di Groningen, incastrato tra il parco urbano a nord della città di Groningen, i quartieri di Groningen Hoornse con Corpus den Hoorn e Hoornse Park a sud e est, e il Drents Eelderwolde con il nuovo quartiere Ter Borch a ovest. Il confine del quartiere va dalla Weg Der Verenigde Naties attraverso il confine tra i giardini comunitari del complesso Piccardthof e il centro sportivo Corpus den Hoorn lungo la Schweitzerlaan e l'area naturale della Piccardthofplas fino alla Paterswoldseweg e poi tramite la Ter Borchlaan e il confine provinciale ritorna alla Weg Der Verenigde Naties. Il quartiere è stato nominato in seguito al complesso di giardini comunitari in onore di Jan Hendrik Herman Piccardt.
