Dove un tempo sorgeva il Castello di Etzenrade, ora trovi una bellissima area dove storia, archeologia, natura e paesaggio, acqua, educazione e ricreazione sono state unite in modo particolare.
Del castello rimane poco, ma i fossati sono stati ben ricostruiti grazie a ricerche archeologiche. Questi sono stati scavati nel 2019 e ora fungono da buffer d'acqua.
I fossati circondano due isole. Sull'isola posteriore si trova un giardino archeologico. L'isola antistante è il luogo storico del castello distrutto. Qui si trova ora un cancello in acciaio corten, che collega l'Etzenrader Huisken e la piccola isola con il giardino archeologico.
