Albiol [1] is een gemeente in Catalonië, Spanje. Het behoort tot de provincie Tarragona in het district Bajo Campo. Volgens gegevens uit 2017 had het een bevolking van 479 inwoners.
Hoewel het niet in documenten wordt genoemd tot 1158, wordt aangenomen dat er al een nederzetting bestond vóór die datum. Er zijn weinig gegevens over de oorspronkelijke heer van de plaats. In 1158 verleende Ramón Berenguer IV de heerlijkheid aan Joan de Martorell, met de opdracht om de plaats opnieuw te bevolken. Toen Martorell inging in het seminarie van Tarragona droeg hij de rechten op de grond over: een deel ging naar de curie van Tarragona, terwijl een ander deel werd gegeven aan de bisschop Hug de Cervelló. In 1198 werd de volledige macht van de geestelijkheid over de gronden erkend.
