Het dorp is vlak tegenaan dit lavaveld gebouwd. Het lijkt wel of de lava vloeide tot tegen de rand van het dorp Kameni Chora. Maar we weten uit historische bronnen dat het omgekeerde gebeurd is. Eerst was er deze (voorlopig) laatste vulkaan uitbarsting met dit lavaveld als gevolg, en dan werd het dorp gebouwd.
