L'església de San Giovanni dell'Origlione va ser construïda al segle XVII com a església del veí monestir benedictí, per al qual es va crear una passarel·la sobre els edificis veïns.
Després de segles d'abandonament i els terribles danys causats per la Segona Guerra Mundial, recentment ha estat redescoberta, juntament amb els valuosos tresors que alberga.
Aquests inclouen la bonica pintura del segle XVIII de Sant Benet enderrocant ídols, pintada per Gaspare Serenario, i una peça dels frescos originals atribuïts a Pietro Novelli.
