Rik van Steenbergen har et monument i Aarendonk, hvor han blev født den 9. september 1924. Han blev blandt andet tre gange verdensmester på landevej. Han var professionel cykelrytter fra 1942 til 1966 (fra han var 20 til 42 år). Han kørte også seks dages løb med sin svigersøn Palle Lykke. Han døde i Antwerpen den 15. maj 2003.
