Den i den sydlige del af Heiligenstädter Flächenalb beliggende landsby er en af 17 officielt navngivne dele af kommunen i byen Ebermannstadt i Oberfranken. Den ligger cirka fire kilometer nordvest for bymidten i Ebermannstadt på en højde af 474 m over NHN.
Indtil begyndelsen af det 19. århundrede var Eschlipp underlagt den landesherskabelige myndighed af det høje kapitel Bamberg. Landsbyens og kommunens herskabsret blev udøvet af dens kontor i Ebermannstadt som et fogedkontor. Også højesteret hørte under dette kontor som centret.
