An der Ecke zur Kazernestraße, entlang der Straßenseite, befindet sich ein Gemüsegarten, der mit einer gemischten Hecke abgegrenzt ist. Ursprünglich bestand diese Abgrenzungshecke aus teilweise Weißdorn und teilweise Eibe. Die Hecke wurde mit Liguster und Hainbuche ergänzt und es gibt auch natürliche Beimischungen von Ahorn, Esche und Stechpalme. Es handelt sich um eine Scherhecke, die mit Ausnahme von Esche auf Scherhöhe geschnitten wird. Die durchgeschossenen Eschenäste werden hier geerntet, vermutlich für Brennholz wie: Bohnenstangen oder Schaufelstiele.
