Hier reparierte Heinrich Engelhard zunächst nebenbei Tafelklaviere, bis er sich 1836 als Instrumentenmacher etablierte. Er spezialisierte sich auf den Bau von Klavieren und wanderte 1850 mit der Familie nach New York aus. Dort gründeten sie die international bekannte Firma Steinway & Sons. Die Familie Steinweg, später Steinway, pflegte stets den Kontakt zu ihrer Harzer Heimat und kam immer wieder zu Besuch. Noch heute finden sich zahlreiche Spuren der Familie in Wolfshagen im Harz und in Seesen. Begeben Sie sich auf den Trail und erfahren Sie mehr über die Geschichte der Steinways.
