Unmittelbar nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg unternahmen die Belgier einen weiteren Versuch, Zeeland-Flandern an Belgien anzugliedern. Dies geschah während der Verhandlungen der "Sieger des Ersten Weltkriegs" am Quai d'Orsay (Paris) im Jahr 1919. Sie wollten sowohl Zeeland-Flandern als auch die niederländische Provinz Limburg eingliedern. "Beide Gebiete gehören historisch, linguistisch und kulturell zu Flandern", so das Argument. Man fand auf belgischer Seite, dass es sich um einen historischen Fehler aus der Vergangenheit handelte, der korrigiert werden musste. Doch dieses "Fest" fand nicht statt...
