Geldrop ist eine Stadt in der Gemeinde Geldrop-Mierlo (Provinz Nordbraband), gelegen am Eindhovener Kanal und wird von der Kleinen Dommel und der Bahnlinie Eindhoven - Weert durchzogen. Im Jahr 2015 hat die Stadt 28.664 Einwohner. Geldrop liegt im Südosten der Niederlande, etwa sechs Kilometer südöstlich von Eindhoven. Historisch gesehen entstand Geldrop aus 3 Kernen: dem eigentlichen Geldrop, Braakhuizen, das östlich der Kleinen Dommel liegt, und Hoog Geldrop westlich der Bahnlinie, die wichtigste Siedlung der früheren Gemeinde Zesgehuchten.
Die Gemeinde Geldrop vereinigte sich 1921 mit Zesgehuchten, von der sie jedoch 1972 einen Teil an die Gemeinde Eindhoven verlor, inklusive des Stadtteils Tivoli und der Weiler Riel und Gijzenrooi. Am 1. Januar 2004 fusionierte sie mit Mierlo zu Geldrop-Mierlo.
