An der Vorderseite des schönen 18. Jahrhunderts Rupelmonde sind Statuen von Neptun und Mercurius zu sehen. Neptun war der Gott des Meeres, Mercurius der Gott des Handels. Dreimal raten, womit der damalige Besitzer sein Geld verdiente...! Der Turm wurde erst 2012 erbaut. Es ist eine Rekonstruktion eines Turms, der irgendwann dort gestanden hat, wie auf einer alten Abbildung zu sehen ist. Diese diente auch als Vorlage, um exakt denselben Turm nachzubauen. Die Uhr, die darin hing, warnte früher die Bewohner und ihr Personal, wenn es Essenszeit war.
