The Historical Candy Factory "Bonbon Willi" in Bernkastel-Kues is a charming candy shop where sweets are still made in the traditional way, as was done more than a century ago .
At Bonbon Willi, sweets are made by hand according to old recipes . Production begins with boiling a mixture of water, sugar and glucose to a temperature of over 150°C. This mass is then poured onto a marble slab to cool. The mixture is then flavoured with natural aromas.
Visitors are sometimes lucky enough to attend a free demonstration of the candy making process.
