The Volksbank Hochwald-Saarburg e.G. was established with effect from January 1, 2009, from the merger of Volksbank Hochwald and Volksbank Saarburg and merged on January 1, 2015, with Volksbank Trier. It was located in the town of Saarburg.
The Volksbank Hochwald eG was based in the town of Hermeskeil. The bank was founded on June 20, 1886, and had 3,705 members on December 31, 2007. The Volksbank Hermeskeil initially originated from the bank association Hermeskeil and later merged with the Raiffeisenbank Hochwald to form the Volksbank Hochwald, which on January 1, 2009, merged with Volksbank Saarburg to become Volksbank Hochwald-Saarburg based in Saarburg.
