The Westerheide is a heathland area of 344 hectares located within the territories of Hilversum and Laren. The area borders the Bussumerheide, the A1 highway, the urban area of Hilversum, and the Amsterdam-Amersfoort railway line. The heath is a continuous stretch with the Bussumerheide. Along the border between the two areas runs a straight unpaved road of approximately 3 km long, the Nieuwe Crailoseweg, also known as Gebed zonder end.
