Diksmuide tiene 14 municipios rurales. Cada pueblo tiene su propia iglesia parroquial y un carácter rural que irradia un cierto encanto sobre los pueblos policiales. Hay verdaderas joyas artísticas entre ellos. Un caso singular es la iglesia ortodoxa de colores llamativos del Monasterio según el rito ruso cerca de Oostkerke.
