Alcalá de Henares es una ciudad española perteneciente a la Comunidad de Madrid. Su término municipal se extiende sobre la comarca natural de La Campiña, aunque parte de este se extiende sobre La Alcarria. Tiene una población de 195 982 habitantes , y una superficie 87,99 km².[2] La comarca de Alcalá, que hace las funciones de su área metropolitana, agrupa a cerca de 800 000 habitantes y una superficie 1421 km².
